Ian Cook loves travelling,
food, wine, sailing, skiing, scuba diving and meeting new people, so when all
these come together under the guise of work, he is blissfully happy.
He has had assignments from all the major newspapers in this country, including
The Observer, The Sunday Times, The Sunday Telegraph, The Mail and The Express.
His work for magazines has appeared in Homes and Gardens and Country Living,
in this country; Essen und Trinken (Food and Wine) in Germany and in America for the Time/Life group.
Other work includes photographic brochures, weddings and annual reports where a lively informal reportage style is required.
Some of his favourite
assignments have been crossing the Sahara for a month covering the Paris/Dakar
rally; spending several days with Leonard Cohen (who was so laid back he was almost
late for his own concert); chasing around London with Tina Turner (who was fabulous
company); accompanying Bob Geldof on a trip to Ethiopia and Sudan and on a more
gentle note, eating and drinking his way around Cork and Kerry in Ireland for
nine days. He has collaborated on several book projects, which have ranged
from architecture in the Middle East to the glitz of the Hollywood musical in
California. |
